It has been a wonderful week in the Fireside Room! Last Friday, a great crew of volunteers set up our Catholic Schools Week Bookfair and the following five days flew by in a whirlwind of Bingo Blizzard shopping, classroom visits, and a rotating cast of even more volunteers. Thank you to all who helped and to all who shopped. Your support means more books for the school and classroom libraries, which translates into more enthusiasm for reading from our students. I sincerely appreciate that I am able to work at a school where students, parents, teachers, and administration show such a love for books and reading. Enjoy the photos below of our students shopping in assorted Catholic Schools Week fashions.

The New Year is off to a great start in the library, thanks to some generous donations from students! We truly appreciate all of the birthday books we have received and want to say thank you to all of you who have given a book or books this year or last.
We are looking forward to the arrival of many more new books which were recently purchased with funds from the Barnes & Noble Bookfair. Thank you again to those of you who volunteered, performed, read, or shopped at our fair in November. It was a fun evening with a huge payoff for our students! Speaking of bookfairs, our Scholastic Bookfair, held here at NDA, is just a few weeks away. The opening night will be on Saturday, January 24th, during Blizzard Bingo. The fair will also be open after the 10:30 Mass on Sunday and during school hours on the 26th and 27th. If you are interested in helping out with set-up, sales, or take-down, please let me know. I'm looking forward to another fun and successful event! |
