The seventh and eighth graders had a fun and productive visit to the Hennepin County Library Ridgedale branch on Tuesday. They were well prepared to begin their History Day research, thanks in large part to a visit at NDA from two HCLIB librarians the previous Friday. The Hennepin County librarians had also called in books from other branch libraries to meet the research needs of our students, so just about everybody left with at least a book or two on their historical figure. Students spent time evaluating the books on their subject, searching the databases for relevant articles, and beginning the process of taking notes. We are fortunate to live in an area with a strong public library system, so don't hesitate to contact a librarian at Ridgedale or another branch if you need more assistance with your research. You can always talk to me as well, of course! Stay tuned for more information about the History Day Hullabaloo at Ridgedale Library on January 20th from 4-7pm. If you can't wait, you can find out more now by going to hclib.org and searching the events calendar for "history day".
